I think most girls already wear those kind of clothes like ^ said.
I would like to but I don't think I CAN simply b/c of family and I'd just feel weird (have lots of bro.'s n guys in family). Plus its my ONLY chance to wear salwar kameez all the time. Over here, unless if its a party or home i don't get to wear it. and i'm not really home much except weekends.

NO I would not wear it unless i wanted to be the center of attraction!!! and to be honest the nicest thing about being in Pak is you get a chance to wear all the lovely salwar kameez suits that you cant when your in West.
I don't know what it is, but even before i open my mouth in Pak they know im from abroad, i certainly won't be advertising it by wearing western attire.

I totally agree with you!
And its funny how like you said you don't even open your mouth but somehow they know...and then the vendors jack up all the prices for everything....so not fair!!!

when i was in Islamabad i wore my jeans with nice kurta tops and it wasnt out of the ordinary. In fact there were plenty of girls wearing jeans, with nice tops. My mum came back a couple of months ago and said lots of girls were wearing leggings with (as she called it)
"maternity style tops"
and i really dont think people are blowing themselves up cuz a few people are wearing western style clothes, get real!

karachi is too warm for those outfits
I actually loved wearing the new style of shalwar kameez in pakistan (ie the loose wide legged pants, long shirts etc)......it was nice wearing something other than jeans and stuff which I wear on a regular basis back here anyways

boots is a wee bit much to put on i think ... what is not seen on the roads, no matter how innocent, people WILL stare ..
on a second note ... you can wear ANYTHING .. as long as YOU are comfortable in it ... else dont matter ...
i mean ... when in pakistan ... i dressed according to where i am going, whether i am alone or with someone ... if you're going to be dressed like that and walking on mall road ... well ... good luck then! i was at nca .. so mall road was like my second home ... and in nca you get to see loads *wink* .... so wearing jeans is pretty normal ... but i took care to keep a chadar with me as i personally dont feel comfortable walking out there alone like that ... well in no market i'd be comfortable walking like that ... not even liberty ... but i know some girls didnt mind walking out just like that ... so it all depends on how you perceive others looking at you ...
so uber-fashionable clothes are purely restricted to friend-gatherings and dinners ... events that dont require you to be roaming about on the roads in the city ...

Ok, I've gone back through all the comments and counted them up. The tally so far is:
YES - 12
NO - 11 (of which 3 said no personally but other ppl do it, or they have seen others in the streets dressed with similar western clothes)
MAYBE - 1
Keep the votes coming...this is getting interesting...

Living in the UK I probably don't wear shalwar kameez enough.
But when I go to Pakistan I like to wear shalwar kameez!
I think asian girls looks beautiful in shalwar kameez! I love seeing some of the beautiful things girls wear in Pakistan!

I wouldn't wear them no. My reasoning behind that is that I wear western influenced clothes at home so I'd rather wear pretty fashion-y shalwar kameezes in all the latest designs whilst in pakistan.
I've seen ample amounts of girls wearing jeans and kurta tops in our neck of the woods (KHI) and don't think that these clothes would be an issue. I think the issue is, would you the person feel comfortable wearing something is connected to the west/upper class folk/people who are trying too hard to be like the english.
Just my thoughts.
