Hmmmmm.
Rose pink or muave? Mustard yellow. A pale sea foam green...almost a watercolor tint? Silver would be nice too.

I think choose a metallic color (bronze or silver or gold) and then a brighter color like an orange, sea green, or yellow

I think the following colors would go well with plum
1) deep pink (ashy pink or a tea pink)
2) mauve or fuchsia
3) purple (light purple) would make a nice contrast
4) green (medium to light)
5) gold
6) silver
And the following neutral colors will go nicely with almost any color:
black, various shades of brown, and gray

Here is a colour palette of all the colours and tones that would go with plum
These are some combos.........personally i like the last colours of the brooch...
Most ppl wud opt for darker ,deeper shades to go with the plum but i'd advise you to contrast it with a pastel blue/champagne/ivory pink and then work it up with either a very dull gold or silver embroidery with diamantes.

I like plum with orange, magenta, black, gold, turqouise, or brown. I don't think green would work well at all, unless it is in very small amount.
