So I recently found out that I left all my makeup except a lip gloss, lip liner & my tweezer & nail filer at my mom's place. I can get it shipped but I have been wanting to buy more makeup anyways.

Some basics that I had been using were

Clinique's moisturizer
MAC's foundation
MAC's eye liners
eye shades were from Urban Decay & Estee Lauder
mascaras from Loreal & Estee Lauder
Blushes & Bronzers from Benefit & Estee Lauder
Lip sticks & Lip liners from, Loreal & Sephora

Now considering what I already have what would you ladies suggest buying & what brand. Keeping in mind that I need to buy everything from scratch but I'll be eventually getting all my makeup back. Maybe in 3 months.

Feel free to add things as concealers or primers or whatever other stuff is out there that every woman should have.

Nars Orgasm Blush, Stila eyeshadows - blend easily like MAC
You should check out Sephora and your department stores because lots of cute gift sets right now where you could try new products

Try Bobbi Brown foundation and Makeup Forever's concealers. Lancome blushers are great!

MAC dsquared grease-paints and eye-pencils.
Urban Decay and MAC eye-shadows
Makeup Forever's aqua eyes collection

Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

hey Gina, I remember in one of your posts you mentioned your preferred shades for bobby brown foundations (both stick and liquid)...I've been trying to locate that info but no luck...can you pls mention those shades again? I've been using mac liquid foundation but have heard some rave reveiws about bobby brown foundation and would love to try it..
@bint-e-naeem, sorry for hijacking your thread, but I'm in middle of building my make-up collection as well and I thought I could benefit with your question too

Those were the one's I personally use, they might be a lot diff on you. However, I use the fluid foundation "warm natural 12" and "honey 5" for the stick foundation.

Worried

Urban Decay Shadows (nice packages out because of the holidays)
Urban Decay eyeliners
Nars matte lip pencil
Makeup forever foundation and microfinish

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

^ Lol MissChievious. Thanks anyways.

Thank you ladies. This has gotten me a little confused now. I'll make a list of all the things mentioned above & THEN go to Sephora. I know associates at Sephora are so much help but my only thing is they don't sell MAC & what if some things are better when it comes to MAC & Sephora people try to sell me someting else.

Gina you are a pro. & you mentioned Bobby Brown foundation & Makeup Forever's concealers. I guess finding the right foundation & concealer is my biggest concern. I had been using Estee Lauder's Individualist for quite some time. Started using MAC's Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation 6 months back. Honestly I didn't like it that much. Are there any suggestions you have or should I stick to what you said? I sometimes so wish I could come see you, get a whole beauty crash course (of course pay you for your time) & then fly back.

njgal thanks for the tip about nice packages out there because of holidays. That is so true.

I was a fan of MAC till I discovered Bobbi Brown, I think it really caters to "desi' skins and works well on our complexions. In the US/UK there's a wide range of foundations to choose from if u're fair but if u're wheatish or dusky it's a task!

I found that BB's undertones really matched well looked good in real AND pictures too. Usually the girls at the counters give u colors much different from u're skintone and ask u to purchase a matching pressed powder to correct it.

ALWAYS test u're foundation on u're face and in broad daylight..a perfect match should be invisible..for blemishes use a concealer. A foundation is just to even-out everything.

Please come down to Dubai!

Thanks mrs.outkast. Seems like many ladies here are on to urban decay for eye shades.

Hey thanks for a detailed answer. That makes it a little easier. I still have 2 more places on my list before Dubai. The day I come there I might be bugging you Another quick question what about eye brow pencils or powders? Which ones?

For eyebrows I just use a dark eyeshadow coz it looks more natural than pencil. Don't think it matters what brand really.

Predatory

Cover Effects for foundation and concealor - not many people use it but in my experience...its the best thing for my skin so far. It covers up every single blemish and isnt cakey. You can find CE at Nordstrom. Apply using a foundation brush.

Dior Skinflash

Smashbox primer

Lancome Powder

Mac/Urban Decay/Lancome eyeshadows

Bobbi Brown blush in Washed Rose

Lancome lipsticks

Smashbox lip liners

And some good old Kajal

Any dark eye-shadow and an eyebrow brush (it's firm and angeled) would do the trick! I like The body shops because it stays PUT Benefits eyebrow kit is also excellent!

I've had problems with urban decay eyeshadow though i love their colors/sparkles - but it falls everywhere and too powdery...I prefer stila, nars, chanel and mac shadows...
