ok lets get some activity in this "not-so-social group" Lol.
So all I want to ask you booklovers is ur Top 3 all time fav novels and briefly say y u think others should read it.
Starting with mine
1.
Kite runner (khaled Hosseini)
- cos there is constant revelations, just a pure thrill all the way through.
2.
Perfume-Story of a murderer (patrick suskind)
- what a freaky book, deals with something serious (murder, canibalism) yet theres this humour element to it!
3.
To kill a mockingbird (Harper lee)
- its been a fav for a long time, this is a book that made a difference to american society without being a bore...love it!

I guess I'll have to default with these selections for the time being.
1. The Bell Jar (by Sylvia Plath): A superbly written semi-autobiographical account of the authors downward spiral into mental illness.
2. 1984 (by George Orwell): The classic dystopian novel. Fictitious social commentary, will even more poignant subject matter considering the ever evolving technological age we live in--and reflecting on the loss of personal liberties/privacy that accompany it.
3. The Mists of Avalon (by Marion Zimmer Bradley): A retelling of the Arthurian legends from a more female/pagan friendly perspective. Very rich imagery, thoroughly enjoying.

naina1n1 Thomas Hardy is incredible, you must read 'the return of the native'..it has another female character Eustacia Vye who is the protagonist, she's proud, ambitious and manipulative...the opposite of Tess.
