....that majority people on this section of forum are overweight, obese or plain and simply fat! (sorry to be blunt, but needed to convey the message with a little force)

Why so many threads on weight loss, and exercise, becoming slim, or whatever?

It is similar to when you might take a little ride through some streets of cities of Pakistan (or any other similar country), you see ads written on the walls or banners on the roads of Aamils, Sanyasi Baba or a Witch Doctor claiming to treat sexually acquired infectious diseases. It gives a false impression as if the city is full of people with sexually transmitted diseases...and everybody is................ everybody without protection.

Can Mods not do some clean up and make suggestion to people not to start these overweight threads again, and again, and again all year around?

Dear friends, it is becoming so common that I am beginning to wonder someone who I have no idea who, really likes to read these threads ........:-)

My sincere suggestions:

1- Perhaps a Sticky Thread would help in Health Forum to guide people to search and find the answer before opening these kind of threads.

2- The same sticky thread can give a list of threads already have been opened on same topic.

3- Actually, come to think of it, ....

Every subsection should have a Sticky Thread Listing (STL, I just made it up) at least 10-15 threads on commonly posted topics so people may be able to pick up from where that thread was left open.

The Sticky thread may have tiltle: "Before you post a thread- Read this"

Thanks.

Impress me..with your intelligence and wit. :-)

Relaxed

Its a discussion forum. People like to discuss their personal problems. That gives them a feeling that they are getting a custom advice/personal attention. If they needed a solution, they could easily do some google search and get their answers. No need to come to GS for that.

Its ok if 5 people start 5 different threads on weight loss problem.

Diwana, nice suggestions, thank you. We have merged many threads on the same topic in the past and continue to do so. At this time, you probably see an overwhelming weight loss flavor because we are running a 3 month weight loss program under the supervision of one of our qualified physician mods, all in good faith, with great participation from the membership. It is being very well received as there is genuine interaction between members that keeps them motivated towards their goals.

Unfortunately, weight management is a serious issue in our community and if GS can help a few folks get back on track, why not eh?

Again, thanks for your comments. We will definitely look up your concerns and try to sort out more threads and offer a cleaner look.
