Jun 15th, 2009 10:29 AM #1 Moderator Parenting, History Forum Lean muscle burns about three times as many calories as fat, so if you squeeze in strengh sessions a week, your body will automatically zap up to 150 extra calories every day, even when you're sitting on the couch.

keep it up! NIKI what she is trying to say is that you can be sitting on your couch eating chocolates (or in your case buttered popcorn) and still be burning calories while at rest. -

This is right. The more muscle mass you have the more calories you burn, as compared to fat. 1lb of fat contains around 3500calories and burns around only 3-5 calories a day if doing nothing, and ofcourse to get rid of 3500 calories of fat (1lb) you gotta workout so intensely to burn 3500 calories a day, which is literally impossible.
A gram of protein contains 4 calories while a gram of fat contains 9. The less your body fat %, the better your metabolism rate and more quickly are you burning calories , even when doing nothing. Patta patta boota boota haal hamaara jaane hai

Jun 16th, 2009 09:26 AM #13 Moderator Parenting, History Forum **** Waist measurement is now believed to be a much more accurate measure of future health risk than BMI alone. ***
Instead of being distributed evenly around the hips, arms and legs, the overweight stocked as fatty acids is piled up in the stomach muscles and in vital organs.
For Men, a waist measurement exceeding 37 inches is associated with potential diseases and a waist measurement exceeding 40 inches is associated with substantial health risk.
For Women, a waist measurement exceeding 32 inches is associated with potential diseases and a waist measurement exceeding 35 inches is associated with substantial health risk. TO DO: Measure your waist today! A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. | | |
