Mind it, eating Samosas, Pakoras, Chaat, Chips, Poori halwaa, paraathay, kheer, zardaa and all this still qualifies you as vegetarian ,, but that is worst than eating baked fish or grilled chicken breast

I dont deride indian food because its vegetarian, but because I dont like how it tastes
you know what else I really deride, people plagiarising and not giving credit to original author.
Unless you are professor Saleem Ali of Uni of Vermont, in which case I take my words back, and nice to meet you professor saab. Can i get a signed copy of your forthcoming book “Treasures of the Earth: Need, Greed and a Sustainable Future”
Daily Times - Leading News Resource of Pakistan
"The vegetarian diet of most Indians is something Pakistanis should not deride but rather respect. When environmental analysts compare the development challenges of India versus China, they often note India has an advantage over China in terms of consumption behaviour since more than 30 percent of the country’s population is vegetarian and more than 70 percent consists of very infrequent meat-eaters.
Meat production, particularly beef, is several-fold more water-intensive. China’s population is far more carnivorous and with affluence increasing, demand on meat consumption is also likely to increase. Water will be the most significant limiting resource for much of Asia in coming decades. It is no wonder then that the Chinese government is also considering a campaign to go back to more traditional Chinese diets that were dominated by green vegetables but were subsumed by the carnal impulse of development."
PS: and if you are not Dr. Saleem Ali, and he actually did chapa of your words, then you have my apologies, and we should really expose this dabba doctor to his university for plagiarising.
PS2: have a good day

All food items are important including vegetables, fruit, beans, and meat products.

I do not like or eat any meat products & I am very healthy. Never had low iron or tiredness even when pregnant.
I eat all kind of junk food and deserts but don't gain weight. Don't know if it is heredity or vegetarian diet.

For those people who are vegetarians as a lifestyle choice, good for you.
For those people who are vegetarians because of any sorrow or guilt for the animal, you have some serious growing up to do.
Not only are you rejecting one of the blessings of your Lord who has SPECIFICALLY ALLOWED the meat of certain animals, you are also being arrogant in your assumption that you are somehow more merciful than the Most Merciful Himself. You are also forbidding something for yourself which Allah has made PERMISSIBLE.
See those canines in your mouth? Evolutionarily designed to rip meat into shreds. I suggest rather than being liberalised hippies, you indulge in a bit of introspection and stop being so irritating.
Me...?
I love meat - all sorts of it. I could just about eat a big fat juicy double cheeseburger with chicken tikka pieces in the middle and not feel a shred of guilt for the animal at doing so.
At the end, I would always Praise Allah for granting me my meal.
Not to say that the current meat consumption amongst Muslim countries is healthy, mind you. But that's different from the issue at hand.

PS: My above post in no way endorses the current practises of animal farming which are cruel and tortoruous.
