My sad story
did about a half hour cardio today. Can't go above 5.0 MPH, which is kinda sad when I see the ppl around me are easily at 9, 10, 11 MPH. Also did alo tof walking tonight (like 20 blocks).

I'm a slow runner too can only do short bouts of sprinting. But if I run slowly (jog) I can go for longer - average speed 6.0km/hour at gradients between 1 and 3%.

I was impressed catty, until I saw the 'km'! lol we're sooo used to mph here!
You guys should try like 5 or 10 minute intervals where you can bump up your speed and sweat it up, get the heart rate past 150! Engaging in a challenge helps, your body adapts to it and you build up stamina.

^ i tried that, but after the fast speed interval ended...i walked soooo slow...didn't have energy to pick up speed for the next fast interval.
originally when i first started to run (a year n half ago) i tried few different methods of running...and what worked for me was jogging at a slow speed...n building up my stamina slowly. I am hoping to do that again, i knw it will take some time but iA ill be able to in few months or so

wow really....thats good news then if u dont mind me asking, how much did you loose?. So anyways, your frnd who lost 40 lbs you are sayin she had little loose skin? but did she tried toning it up or anything?....cuz there r like 100000000000 diff things on net some says u wl get little loose skin but with time it tones up on its own some say with toning excercise it wl be fine. And ofcourse then there are some that says if you do strength traning along with cardio n other stuff you wont get loose skin...etc etc....so ya i m hping for the best cuz i hate gyming lol but i m doing it now to get rid of the extra weight which now is working fine *great* so i dont want to end up with something whcih would make me kay whattt? i worked this hard to end up with some other problem...if u know wat i mean.....

well...abt my weight ...i lost over 40 lbs as well but over a 2 year period. i worked out a lot, and ate little (college days u can get away with that) but i didn't have loose skin either. i am cardio freak, i did very little strght. training. BUT i have gained 20 of those lbs back (in the last year or so, due to family issus causing stress and not having time to workout ) ...so i m working out again in hopes to lose the weight again, n inshallah will do.
but for my bf i knw she use to do Pilates/yoga + other cardio...and she has only gained like 5 lbs back...she also does the "no crab" diet...and sticks to it religously.

Skipped gym yesterday cz i was exhausted, also my legs were hurtinggggg
Today, did a half hour of cardio (10 treadmill, a fast walk at a high incline with 5 lb weights), 10 on elliptical, followed by ab exercises, and a last 10 minutes running)
ab exercises - 50 situps (10 on the floor, 30 on the ball, 10 on the bench), bar twist, dumbell raise, and "bicycle" for the sides/obliques.
I will feel it tomorrow =|

soreness is not an indication that u had a good workout. Soreness occurs only when a muscle is not used to an exercise.. and if u hit it hard enough , u get soreness.. u keep working on it .. and u wont feel soreness at all, because its gotten used to it.
