Good job rabia - I am totally off track because went on a spa retreat with the gals and totally did not exercise OR eat right. Plus a snow day which didn't help. (I did shovel though)

I am totally out of it and need to hit the gym ASAP.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Yes, but then again, the treadmill helps you build more stamina. Nothing beats the treads

3) I get really sweaty and itchy at gym cuz at times it gets crowded and i think the warmth gets to me lol.....so is it wise to put the fan on while excercising?..
Its not air conditioned? If it is, don't put a fan on, the sweat evaporating from your body/shirt will cause your skin to cool down, drawing out heat from body. Furthermore, having less humidity around you (with a fan) would mean you sweat more (though you wont notice it) and become dehydrated. Drink lots of water if you want to do that.

Second star to the right and straight on till morning

Yes it is. It basically increases your heart rate even more - kicks up your metabolism.

It's basically the same effect as intervals. You run really fast for 2 minutes and jog for 3 minutes - then sprint for 2 minutes and jog for 3 minutes for 30 minutes total.

May I join the gymming log? I'm getting married on April 16 and I want to look great in my dress---I would hate for my kids to see my wedding pics someday and say, "Gee, mom, you should have done something about those bat wings/saddlebags/tidh before you got married!"

So anyhow, this afternoon I ran 6 miles on the treadmill, did 60 minutes on the elliptical, then finished up with some pushups and abs exercises for about 10 minutes.

Yes, NJGal, give us the scoop. And don't consider it falling off the wagon----consider it a well-deserved rest! Pick back up where you left off and you'll probably feel stronger than ever having given your body some recovery time.

I'm pretty much a cardio addict; I had been running a lot but when it got too cold to run outside I started doing more elliptical, stairclimbing, and treadmill in the gym. I have a harder time with the strength stuff, and my upper body and core are weak so I've been trying for the past few weeks to work on pushups a few times a week and to take some classes at the gym specifically for strength and also abs.

For working abs/core on my own, I do the plank position; I've been working my way up in time and am up to holding it for two minutes at a time. I also use the leg lift machine in the gym where you rest all your weight on your forearms and lift your legs straight up or to the side. I've gotten up to three times of 10 reps each--legs straight up, legs to the left, legs to the right.

I also bought some light wrist weights (I think they're 1.5 lbs each) that I wear occasionally on shorter runs or while stairclimbing; I feel like they've helped me tone my arms a little more.

Where is everyone today?

Today after work I took two classes at the gym: a 30-minute abs class, and a 55-minute 'sports circuit' class (mostly high intensity interval training.) Then I did an additional 30 minutes on the stairmaster.

I have five weeks from today until my wedding.
