I was going to give it a miss today, but having read this thread has got me motivated, so I think I will just do a quick half an hour at home instead of the gym, just working on my back and forearms.

try eating 5-6 times a day instead of 3 big meals. lots of veggies and fruits..etc and make sure to consume protein along with your meals.. then measure your fat weekly (not your weight but actual fat around a specific area), if it is decreasing slowly, that's a good sign, fast=something is wrong.

But woh kehtey hain na...meri hadion mein peek par gayi hai lol. My flexibility and strenght is just average which is a shame . Anywayz, the guy said within a month i will see a change so that's great.

This girl i talked to yesterday @ Gym told me about a supplement Hydroxy Cut, which apparently helps alot with the weight loss. I told her i can never take any supplements because i even avoid medicines as long as i can because of side effects. But she said it apparently doesnt have any side effects. So has anyone use it?. Just asking because i know i would never be able to gather up the courage using anything that sounds as weird as Hydorxy Cut :P LOL

i'd really like u to change ur diet a bit and exercise with proper technique and have patience while u lose the weight.. there have been testimonials about hydroxycut but im not too sure about it..just stick to eating 5-6 small but healthy meals throughout the day..and dont overdo your exercise.. what most ppl forget is you dont lose weight/gain muscles while you're in gym.. you're only breaking down the muscles.. real process starts when u step out of gym.

If you dont seem to lose weight even after tweaking up your diet a bit or see any kind of weight loss.. for a month or so... then go for supplement like hydroxycut etc.. but im pretty sure diet and proper exercise technique is all thats needed to get what u want.

ps: why not add protein shake in to your diet.. it's not just for gaining muscles.. it can also be used as weight loss remedy , since you'll be getting protein with no added sugar or any kind of fat, and calories per serving is also pretty low.

the more muscle mass you have , the less fat u have on ur body. Muscles weight more than fat but take less space than fat does.

awesome thread maham. my usual routine was to run three miles on the treadmill 3 days a week followed by lifting lightweights and the ab weights machine. the rest of the days I dance but I look at that as more of a hobby. Because of school and final exams I havent been to the gym more than once a month lately and need to get back in the habit. diet: i try to consume lots of raw extra virgin olive oil, laban (arabic lassi?), water, hummus and chicken. I only occasionally have soda or junk foods and eat no red meat.
workout tips: i find that chewing a minty gum while running really helps me to extend my workout because it prevents the mouth from getting dry or you feeling thristy....

keep it simple... I run for an hour, exactly at 6.5mph, and bump it upto 8.5mph for the last 5 minutes... Apart from that, i spend 30 minutes on the elliptical, and then some resistance training and situps. I go there every day, dont miss a day unless im out of town. Dont make friends at the gym or you'll waste time talking to them. I spend two hours daily in the evening, and whatever I have to watch on tv, be it heroes or some other show, I watch it while working out...

I always have a nice breakfast followed by a nice lunch outdoors pretty much daily, but cut down on dinner. Ive followed this for the last 5 months, going strong so far...

Its just gona take u a month or so to be comfortable with all that

and dont forget wat other members said, instead of 3 meals a day take 5 light meals a day.

example
1) 8am two slices with egg or cottage cheeze
2) 12am an apple with almonds
3) light lunch that includes salad
4) banana shake (made by skimed or 2% milk)
5)very light dinner.

and nooo dieting please

I did biceps, triceps and forearms today
