Do you ladies take any vitamins or supplements? Which vitamins do you recommend for women to take on a daily basis? Please list things other than Centrum or other multivitamins.

I have a bottle of Omega 3 Fish Oil. Yuck!! Whenever I take them I start burping fish oil and it's so gross Omega 3 fatty acids can be found in this or flaxseed oil. I used to eat flaxseeds which is a much much better option than taking fish oil.

I also used to take Viactiv calcium chews, which all women should take (not necessarily viactiv, but women should get a decent amount of calcium due to problems that can happen later on like osteoporosis).

I'm better than you and you know it. P.S. I purposely made this bright to annoy you.

UGH! I know what you mean about the fishy burps. And it's worse for me cuz I don't even like or eat fish. But now they also have Omega 3 fish oil capsules that come without the fishy burp side effect. You just have to check the label for that benefit.

I've taken prenatal pills before only for hair and skin. You don't have to be pregnant to take them. And they're good for men as well.

These days I'm just taking Sundown hair vitamins.

^ That's what i have, fish oil capsules and it's pretty awful. Also I'm not pregnant or planning to be, just know that omega 3 fatty acids are good for men and women. i think flaxseeds are definitely a better alternative.

^yeh i started taking them too but after a few months, everytime i had them they made me nauseous, the flavor became too much. the fish oil capsules i take (on and off) are by NatureMade.

does anyone take any other vitamins/supplements?

daily intake of vitamin supplements is determined by what ur daily diet consist of.
only 50% vitamins supplements are absorbed by the body and therefore vitamins should be consumed in there most natural form i.e fruits, vegetables and nuts

calcium is the most important mineral required by the female body. its best consumed as yogurt( fruit yogurt, smoothie will do) , laban/lassi , cheese, milk (kheer or custard will do ), spinach and bananas are also rich sources of calcium.

if u r on the heavier side, include low fat or no-fat dairy products.

i take fish oil capsules everyday. i freeze them before taking them...no fishy burps. atleast it works for me! i also consume Wellwomen multivitamin tablets for 3months and then give a break of 2-3months before i start taking them again.

apparently continous supplement of vitamins is harmful for the body hence its best to give breaks for a interval of a couple of months.

hope this was helpful!

Hopefully if your daily diet consists of 10 servings of fruits and vegetables, fish that is high in omega fatty acids, grains and all that good stuff, there should be no need for you to take an additional supplement. But the question is, how many of us eat healthy as in a large variety of nutritious meals and work out? Ummm,

I take a multivitamin/mineral and Calcium supplement as I do not consume enough dairy products and women over 30 do start losing bone whether we like it or not. Especially women from Asian background...as we are genetically predisposed to osteoporosis. An omega supplement also helps.

^I've tried flaxseed as well. It's better....no fishy side-effects. But if you want fish oil capsules check the label for "no fishy burps" and buy that one instead.
