hey.. hope everyone is doing well..
i have a question and ur opinions are much appreciated..
until like 1-2 years back.. i was very skinny but gradually ive put on some weight and look fine..not fat.. not skinny like before
since a few months..ive put on some fat around the belly.. like say id want to reduce tummy by around 1.5 inch....
everything else is okay..
i know of some ab exercise etc.. but they say, if u start a specific exercise.. n when u leave it, stuff gets worse..
my mum just laughs and says im making it a big deal..n its not even noticable..
i know its not too noticable.. but I KNOW how it is and cant get over it.. n it also worries me that if i dont do anything about it now.. it will become fatter
will cardio/tredmill etc help to overcome the problem?
im 21 and going to get married in 2 months.. and im in panic mode..hehe
need ur help =)

you know its almost impossible to gain weight without putting food in your stomach. Do let us know how your eating habits are like?

Why would you wanna quit excercise after acheiving your goals? Make it a habit for life.

Okay excercising should not be done in spurts or phases. Its a way of life and you have to keep it up if you want to keep up those abs up.
Now, my favorite thing for abs and total body workout is Pilates. Get yourself a basic Windsor Pilates DVD and use that at home to work out. At the same time, do cardio three times a week. You will feel and look great!
As for abs and them looking worse if you stop working out.
If your body is used to healthy or organic food and all of a sudden you start eating fast food, your body will suffer.
Just like that, if your body is used to working out and being healthy and then all of a sudden you stop excercising...your body will also suffer.
Take care of your body and in turn it will take care of you too.

thanks so much..
i think i just needed some motivation =)
my eating habits..
ummm..morning i usually have bread and milk..
lunch.. 1 roti with either vegetables/chicken/meat.. i eat everything.. mum doesnt give an option lol
dinner.. same stuff really..
rice..once a week.. no one in the family is too fond of rice..
then in between breakfast n lunch.. just some regular snack.. mostly, just a glass of juice if im home.. and sandwich if im in uni..
between lunch and dinner.. milk plus chips lol
fast food/restaurant stuff.. once or max twice a week..
n im not too crazy about chocolates or fizzy drinks either..
i drink very less water.. usually just about 3 glasses a day.. n make that even less in ramadan! =(
and i have irregular periods...im not taking any medicine because ive got each and every test done n the doc says everything is perfect n needs no medication.. its just a natural irregular cycle..
i know exercise is important.. but i wanted to know if cardio is enough.. or should i go ahead with specific ab exercise too..

PS has told you what you need to do.
Do both ab and cardio. Eat well. And don't panic wedding is not a boxing match. Being little over weight wont make you go against an unexpected opponent.

^ exactly. Being overweight on ur wedding day isnt a big deal. I'd rather be overweight on my wedding day and be in good shape for the rest of my life, rather than being fit on my wedding day and never think about exercising again.

Sai, thanks for sharing your diet. It's great that you are taking healthy-ish snacks between meals.. I think these in-between snacks are very important when trying to maintain a healthy weight. For the tummy... crunches have always worked for me.. (and i'm overly obsessed with having a tight, flat stomach). Do like 50 crunches every other day.. maybe on the days you aren't doing cardio. Eventually you'll be able to do a lot more than 50. Of course, stretch before and after to make sure you don't pull any muscles.
And congrats on the wedding!!!!

Sai123, I know exactly what u mean, up until about a year ago my weight would stay low whatever I ate, loads of KFC, quarter pounders etc (my other half could put his hands in an O-shape and get them round my waist lol) but then I began to notice out of nowhere I was starting to get a bit of a tummy. Am sure it's just my metabolism slowing down a bit so now I have to work at it a bit to keep it totally flat whereas before it was just naturally that way

its just that when ure just used to being slim.. and getting comments like "please put on some weight" etc..
no matter how much i ate of what i ate i never put on weight..
now its been 42kg since like 2-3 years.. n then i have a tummy.. its too much of a change to adapt to! lol..even though i checked my weight and its still 42!!!thats the weird thing =S
im going to start taking care as soon as ramadan gets over! =)
cardio and abs exercise wohooo lol

dear sai123...
I became sad after knowing your problem. Really you r in great trouble. So whatever u r going to do first, think a lot then take decision. you should consult a doctor and u do light exercise.
Gud luck and get well soon.
