Lets say someone was in a car accident and they had spinal injuries. After that the person often gets dreams at night where the person is involved in a car accident whether they were driving or someone else was driving. They always end up injured or dying in their dreams. The person is scared of driving now. What can be done to get past this fear of driving and to get rid of the dreams that the person sees?

i was involved in a car accident back when i was in univ...i was in the front passenger seat, while my room-mate was driving...we were making a left and the light turned amber, so he turned b4 the light could turn red (our right of way) - a car coming from the other direction failed to stop on the red signal cuz that driver was distracted (she had spilled some coffee while driving and wasn't looking at the road/signal)...and to top it off, she was also speeding (doing 80 in a 60 zone)...we got T-boned, and the brunt of the impact was on the passenger side obviously...i had a few cracked ribs, and a dislocated shoulder...nothing as bad as a spinal injury etc, Alhumdulillah...

eventhough I wasn't driving, and my injuries weren't that serious, for the longest time I couldn't make left turns while driving...and if i was the passenger, I would almost panic when the driver of the car would make a left turn :-S

I only got over it with time...but yea, if it had become a more serious problem, i would've gone for therapy to get some help...
