We have decided not to get it for either of us or our daughter (8 months old). We however did get the regular flu shot. We are hoping to avoid H1N1 by using regular handwashing/precautionary techniques, inshaAllah.

^ That was going to be my approach. But in the last two weeks so many cases have popped up amongst students that I decided it was too much of a risk given my situation.
I got mine today.
I was talking to one of the nurses at the OB's office and said that I have decided to get it and will get it on my next appointment. She was like get it now or we wont have any more within an hour as they are on a first come first served basis
Anyway,I hope it was the right thing that I did.
God knows best!!

Sahar, i'm in the same boat..... i'm still apprehensive as i'm in the final stages of pregnancy...
Ok, so we have a supply of Tamiflu at home..... daughters are going to be vaccinated... still unsure as to whether i should take it or not... i think i will just bite the bullet and do it...

oh they where giving it out at work today after reading the consent form (which is informed consent) which you have to sign i decided not to have it. A lot of people decided not to have the jab. I was just not happy with the no. of clinical trials and i do not have any underlying health issues so i should be fine inshalah.
maroush, please do consider it.
but also do some research as there is a certain component that must be excluded from the vaccine being given to expectant mothers.
^That is the preservative,Thimerosal.
Some places are getting the preservative free vaccine for pregnant women but I have also heard that some clinics did give the preservative containing vaccine to pregnant women.I am not sure though because I just heard it from someone. You might want to look into it.
The one I got was thimerosal free.
The last I heard, it was Baxter... the same pharmaceutical which 'accidentally' had avian flu bacteria in its flu vaccine samples which were distributed to labs in 18 countries last year.
Some comments from another site about Baxter and its shareholders:
"It's a planned pandemic. How the hell did so many people forget the story about Baxter Labs "accidently" mixing the LIVE bird flu with the flu shots for next fall. How many people are refusing to recognize that IT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED? There are over 300 microbiologists "dead" from 'accidents' or 'suicide' "since 1998! This has been a long time coming. Are people now THAT deaf, blind and stupid?....."
"Would you really allow your kids to be given a vaccination created by the people that knowingly sent AIDS infected blood to thousands of people in the Third World?
That sent live flu infected vaccine to Eastern Europe? A vaccine who's largest shareholder is Donald Rumsfeld - old Doctor Death himself?"
And everyone knows who's buddy Donald Rumsfeld is.........right?
So who do you think may have heavily invested in Donald's venture?
^ that is what I have reading and hearing as well, a 'planned pandemic'.
I dont know, I honestly don't know which side to trust.
I was really scared yesterday after hearing about the kid dying, but now we have decided against it.
We are trying to stay safe though, washing hands, sanitizing etc. Also , since the kids are little, Im just going to keep them inside as much as possible. (e.g no trick or treating)
Btw, we know of two people who got the vaccine and have had a reaction to it.One of them is my husbands colleagues wife, and she cant move her entire left arm.
So, right now, we'll just try to play safe, I dont want to sound like a broken record, but I don't know what the long-term effects of the vaccine are.
yeap getting it. In governement we are all being advisde to get it and they are holding sessions in our town halls... so will get it Inshallah. Didnt get my flu shot this year, so should get this
