      It's actually very easy!

      Ingredients:

      3 cup rice

      one whole chicken

      2-3 tomatoes

      pre-fried onions

oil (if you don't fry the onions)

      3-4 green chillies

      3-4 tbs yogurt

1 packet of bombay biryani shaan masala (or according to your taste)

cilantro & mint leaves for simmer

(you also need an aluminum dish and foil for baking)

      Method:

Boil rice(leave them half cooked). Mix chicken with spices and everything else in the aluminum dish and make a layer of rice on top. Cover up the dish with foil(has to be airtight). Bake the biryani for about 45-50 minutes in oven on 350-400F level of heat. Take it out and enjoy eating it! :-)

Thanks for the recipe. I thought all biryani was meant to be oven baked?

^You're welcome. No, there are various ways to make it. Most people I know don't bake the biryani. They usually cook the chicken and boil the rice separately on stove and then make 2-3 layers of rice and chicken one by one. That's such a time consuming method so I thought I'd share an easy way with some of our male/female guppies who are not so expert in cooking. :-D

I don't think I posted the oven cooked rice pudding recipe, but it's so easy. (Plus I'm too lazy to stand over a stove continously stirrring)

Grease a large oven proof dish with butter and pour in full fat milk 3/4 of the way up. Throw in a handful of arborio or risotto rice and sugar, mix it about a bit and place into a medium hot oven on the middle shelf. Leave in oven and stir every 15-20 minutes or so. Top up with milk if it looks dry and the rice isn't cooked. The longer you cook it for the nicer it tastes.

Must confess, this is actually a baby food recipe but why should grown ups miss out on all the nice stuff?

shahreen... doesnt the milk get stuck at the bottom then?

i know when i make dhood wali sanwiyan.. no matter how much ghee i put in bottom.. it still gets stukc, hence the stirring every 5 minutes (u get real nice muscles afterwards )

Thanks for the recipe! The rice pudding seems yummy(who cares if it's baby's food...as long as people like eating it!). I will make it for my family as soon as my exams are over. Too bad I won't be able to eat it as it contains milk....You see I'm a lactose intolerant! :'(

Mash'Allah! @ you eating 1 cup of rice yourself (((I admit, we make 1 1/2 cups for 3-4 people at home lol)))

Well, if one person can eat 1 cup then I guess you'll want to cook 3 cups? See the recipe again...I have changed the quantities for you.

      PS.
      Please becareful with the spices!
