I prefer baking over frying..so far i have baked patatoes, vegetables, meats, fishes and much more..i am trying to eliminate fried food and oils from my food intake. Has anyone here ever tried baking pories instead of frying..or baking pakoray instead of frying? Is that even possible or no? If anyone of you have baked anything different let me know..before i go ahead and do any weird experiments.
Thanks

dont cut down too much on ur oil intake... not healthy ...u should balance you oil intakes by doing proper exercise everyday, and make sure to end the night with a long walk somewhere with fresh air.

one idea would be to use oil that is better for you. olive oil or kanola oil, but deep frying aint a great idea in general.
one of my pals had this air cooker which used to be on ifnormercials a while back. u could make fries in it by just putting a little bit of oil and then closing the lid, the thing heats up teh air inside and the food get cooked by hot air, froes used 1/100th of the amount of oil u would use otherwise and tasted like fries. try that

Baked Pakore? I wonder what they taste like. I am not a big fan of baking . I love fried stuff. I mean the kind of taste any fried stuff has, cannot be achieved by baking. Yes .. I know it ain't healthy but .. for me the taste matters more.

Niqabi and roshnie, , thanks for sharing your experiences..i am happy to learn that i am not only the crazy one
ahmadjee, , naik kaam may dair kaisi..aap try kar kay batain..to phir hum try karain.
Furqan, thanks for your suggestion..by trust me furqan..i get enough oil from the food..that's why i wanna cut it down..and yes i do walk everyday :-)
samina, they aren't that bad..if you spice them up later with chat masala or black pepper and herbs.
Mehnaz, me too..i love baked potato fries and wedges as well.. yummy yumm.
ahmadarsalan: technically you are right when you said that fries should be fried..but now they just identify it as fries..like baked fried..grilled fries etc.
Mr. Fraudia: oh yeah i remember those..but i always thought that those are deep fryers...hmmm..that gave me some interesting ideas..thanks :-)
chandbeti: yes, frying tastes better..i agree..but health matters to me as well :-)

You can take some nice potatos...
I like Idaho or Golden..
Slice like french fries..
Drizzle Olive Oil..
and
sprinkle chives, salt, pepper
and bake in oven..
Or easier yet... Liptons dried soup mix..on top drizzled Olive Oil.
and bake.
Seriously, tastes ummm ummm Good.
Though IMHO Golden Potatoes (very inexpensive) washed and then microwaved whole about 3-5 minutes (depending on size) are pretty tastety if ya slice em in half, add a small pat of butter and some paprika, salt and pepper.
