Id like to know what methods you can employ in order to use a stovetop for oven purposes. eg, baking a cake, or a pizza. How can it be effectively done on a stovetop?

One method Ive seen used is to use a large ferrous container, or pateeli, (large enough to house an 8 to 12 inch dish, for medium sized cakes or pizzas......and place it on a stove....insert some insulator, eg, a brick, or a wooden plank, and place your cake dish, or pizza tray on that brick. While tis option works well for cakes, it doesnt work as well for pizzas, since pizzas require top heat as well.

Wow! Can you share some recipes - food that can be made over the stove?

I just know that people put baigan (eggplant) over the stove and burn it, (not burn but you know what I mean) instead of baking in the oven.

In some places stovetop ovens are available.
They are large pans with lids and a stand with a baking dish inside.
You have to put them on a stove and heat them up, just as ayou would pre-heat an oven. They are small but you can make cakes, pizza etc. in them. They were much more common in the past, but you can still find them if you look hard enough. My mother often tells me about the delicious cakes my Dadi used to make using such an oven on her kerosene stove.
