i was having some corn with lunch yesterday, and i thought it would be great to try some chicken corn soup...i haven't had good chicken corn soup in a while. the one you get here at restaurants is ok, but nothing like the pakistani home-made one..my mam makes the best chicken corn soup and other chinese dishes , and i really miss it..so how do you make it..perhaps some day i will try to make it at home..

Dullz man im thrilled, cant wait to see the finished product. I got surprise for yo as well. I just leeched a brand new trance CD, DJ Mark Norman "In Trance We Trust". He is fast becoming recognized as the latest in a long line of Dutch production maestros to take the scene by storm. He also signed a contract with DJ Tiestos Blackhole Recordings. We shall stream it at the first oppurtunity
Sorry mods, off topic :>

Ingredients:
Chicken- 1kg, cut in pieces
FOR BROTH:
Garlic- 4 whole cloves
Onion- one small sliced
Salt- 1 tsp
Black pepper- 1tsp
Corn- canned already boiled 1 cup-grind coarsly,
Soy sauce- 1 tbsp,
Chili sauce-1 tbsp,
Corn flour- 3-6 tbsp, eggs- 2
Cooking instructions:
First make broth:
Add 4 cups of water to chicken in pan, along with sliced onions, garlic cloves, salt and pepper.
2. Cook initially on high heat till water boils, then on medium heat- cover halfway till chicken is tender (check with fork)
3. Take chicken out and shred.
4. Strain the chicken broth and throw away onions and garlic.
5. Measure broth in cups and pour into a bigger pan, add more cups of water to it- equivalent to number of people being served. Add one extra cup for cooking.
6. Add corn and shred chicken and bring to boil. Now add soy sauce and chili sauce (may add while serving if desired).
7. Mix 4 tbsp cornflour in about half cup cold water and stir well.. make sure soup is on boil and add cornflour while stirring. You may keep adding 2tbsp cornflour mixed in 3/4 cup water to soup till desired thickness is obtained.
8. Lastly add the eggs, slightly whipped while stirring.
:google:
I'm going to try this one myself in a few days. Will let you know how it turned out!
PS- got the recipe off a desi website

Outty, apart from cooking the corn soup which is a hassle and going to the Chinese resturant, you can get those Knorr instant chicken corn soup sachets...they taste like real corn soup. I remember my aunt sent some fifteen of those from New York ( for me the good thing was they were halal too)...
I bet you can get them in Canada...this chinese canadian friend of mine born and brought up in Vancouver told me the names of all our food items and desi stuff...someitmes i feel she knows more than me

vinegar, soya sauce and chilly sauce depending upon how much you can take in....i mean in the end if you really want not just to warm but put urslef on fire than sometimes try chilly chips too....its heavenly, i mean the combo is really good....
* my mom makes scrupmtious (sp) chicken corn soup*
now, i want saag gosht and chawal, chicken corn soup and parchay that she makes...
