I made home made quiche today and it turned out awesome. I'll share the recipe with you all...

1 cup all purpose flour
1/3 cup shortening
1/2 tsp salt
2-4 tbls cold water

Using shortening, flour and fork, mix mixture until you have round flakes. Add water as the last thing and add it slowly. Make a ball out of dough and then roll dough (like a roti), place into tart pan and pierce holes in the base. Bake for 15 mins at 350 degrees in oven.

For filling :-

2 large eggs
1/2 pint heavy cream or milk
shredded cheddar cheese (1/2 cup)
green onions, mushrooms, spinach
garlic powder, salt, black pepper and nutmeg (as you wish)

Brush base of pastry with egg.
Whisk filling and add into the dough pastry base.

Cook for 40 mins at 350 degrees. Allow to cool and enjoy with a fresh green salad !

Try it. Its delicious !! MY OWN RECIPE )) I am so proud of myself

shortening is like butter but its white. You can find it in your corn oil/cooking oil section of the supermarket.
