Now when I’m looking for a lip shade, it takes me more than 15 mins to look around, choose and settle down for exactly what I want. Deciding on blush/foundation and the rest is easy business but lips!!! That takes the whole cake and leaves me baffled. Please help me girls
So tell me what are your favorite colours that works out with everything. I like natural/neutral shades mostly. Reds/Orange/shocking pinks are a definite No No for me. Too vibrant and screamy colours. Doesn’t suits every one! I want to completely go for low colour tones this time. Last time I checked I had mostly mauve, dark browns/cappuccino/chocolate/wine and similar shades. I didn’t had any pink. So tell me girls, have you run into any perfect pink (strawberry blonde)tones? If yes, TELL ME, Help me to reduce my shopping time cuz its impossible for me to spare so much these days. I preferably use clinique’s/ Chanel lipsticks. However I’m ready for a change if I have to. Now reply you cosmetic expert, shopa holic chicks. I can use some tips and u can earn some easy sawab in the month of Ramadan
Adios!

It only takes you 15 minutes? It sometimes takes me half an hour and occasionally, even longer.
The key is to work with your complexion and colouring (including hair colour), whatever it may be. Remember, any time you switch hair colours, it'll make you look different and you'll probably have to switch lipsticks. I know I did.
On my skin tone, reds and dark rose colours work better. Pinks and mauve look horrendous and the neutral/natural/brown colours also make me look dull. There are some darker pinkish tones that are actually rose-ish which are actually flattering ... the only nice ones I have recently discovered are by L'Oreal/Maybelline and Elizabeth Arden ... these are my "perfect pinks":
"Infinite Rose" L'Oreal Endless collection
"Tropical Punch" L'Oreal Shine Delice collection
"Plumberry" Maybelline
"Cocoa" Elizabeth Arden
My other reddish colours are by MAC ... Viva Glam, Del Rio, Mystic, etc.
Kindness is more important than wisdom, and the recognition of this is the beginning of wisdom.

Hiya,
Picking make up is always so tough...because the colors never seem to be suited for our skin tone... But I recently discovered this Indian Canadian line of cosmetics, Vasanti. And they have the best stuff!! And all the colors look really great against our 'south asian' skin tone...check them out....

Thanks girls for the replies so far.
Legally brown try Plum Raisin or Honey Red 06 By clinique ;-)
*chuckles* No Mehnaz, its m-o-r-e than 15 mins. Ok maybe u can help me. My skin tone is comparatively fair. My hair is brown with glints of reds/light brown in it. Now here’s what really throws off the balance, my eyebrows are sooo dark. I don’t dye my hair. That makes the darker shades look awful on me. Or so I think. I’m not really comfortable with darker tones, it sounds too loud. I like it natural. Just to highlight the overall features. I don’t know why that these days every shade of lipstick I look at, throws me into a fit of disgust. Why Why *stomping my feet on ground like a kid* Oh Why? Some one tell me
I’m such a picky chooser when it comes to myself. But so easy to suggest others. What an irony!
Gummy Bear, to write with that handle during ramzan is sooo You made my mouth water and I still have 6/7 hrs to go yet till iftari. Hey, tell us ur skin tone, perhaps we can help ;-) unless ur utterly satisfied with your discovery.

I wear mostly lipgloss so not sure about pinks in lipsticks. I do have one from Maybelline though, their diamond shades you know??The sparkly lipsticks, you know wat i am tlaking abt??No, no, they arent that glittery, just the right amount i would say. They have some nice pinks you might want to look at.
Hey, I have olive toned skin and i also have mostly browns, muaves in lipsticks. Want to share your wine shades?Meharbani hogi. Eveyone else is also welcome to share their inputs for me.
And DB, dont worry, it takes me 30-45 mins to choose ANY kind of makeup lol and I love every minute of it.

mmmmmmm make up, could eat the stuff.
if youve got yellow skin tones - Pink is the wrong colour.
red/brown hair.. suits red brown lipstick but lip gloss is all the rage..
the key is to TAKE YOUR TIME and try different stuff on,
depending on if youre from the UK.. Get this weeks WOMENS OWN magazine, theres a spread about changing your lipstick, blusher to achieve totally different looks. its very well done. i think youd find that helpful.

I disagree with that: if you experiment with different pinks, there is plenty of pinks you can easily wear. There is this model Rakshanda (currently starring in Sony's Jassi Jaisi Koi nahi), i have mostly seen her wear pinks in lipgloss and lipstick and she looks absolutely fabulous (she has the most beautiful olive skin).

DB ever since I visited USA/Canada I refuse to buy clinique. But yeah Raisan and plum and berry are very warm melting shades. At the mo though I am into colored glosses. I would love to try the L'oreals Sorbet Shine thingies but
