There is one by Saadia Imam, National Foods show where she has this really 'cool' chef prepare dishes. I gotta tell you this Chef from PC Karachi is good enough to have his own show. He is so comfortable in front of the camera and seems like a very nice person. I like his quick restaurant style recipes. He doesn't make too mucg fuzz of cooking. My kinda style.
The other is on GEO - Iftaar Mazedaar host by Kiran and Zubeda Aapa. Kiran comes across as very calm, innocent and sweet. It's rare to see such girls thesedays in real life. Zubeda aunty is a typical gharelo khatoon type of cook. Her recipes are good but seem too tilted towards spices and oil. But she does have a good presentation style. I just wish the director installs an over head camera to give a view of the ingredients in the pot. These frontal and side cameras aren't just enough.
I think there is a lot of room for improvement in cooking shows coming from Pakistan. We have such a rich history of culinary cuisine and a plethora of recipes. We can definitely come up with better choreographed shows.

I've seen the one with Kiran and Zubeda aapa. Just yesterday I was telling my mum how I think Kiran is very attractive.
I haven't seen the saadia imam one. What time/day does it come on?

FF, Saadia Imam comes simultanously with Kiran but on GEO. Yeah Kiran is attractive but she needs to fix her posture. AIk tau hamaaree ladkian kuub kiun nikaal ker khaRRi hoti hain?
sister irem, agar khawateen factories may kaam ker saktee haiN tau mard kitchen may kiun nahee ghuss saktay?. Waisay bhi all the world renowned chefs are males. We are Mashallah self sufficient and competent.

I don't watch tv..but the other day i was visiting someone and one aunty mentioned the program with zubeida tariq..and she mentioned the episode about chicken nuggets. That aunty said the same thing..that zubaida tariq uses a lot of spices. I did saw that show while i was visiting them and in the show zubaida ji was making a dish with some chilkay of some fruit or subzi..and i thought..ye kaun kha'ay ga. I remember 10 years ago when i used to live in pakistan..they used to had really good cooking shows. One was related to show biz personalities..i remember watching behroz subzwari and anwar maqsood one time. Anwar Maqsood seems a quick vegetable cutter. He was cutting carrots so fast.
Maybe, these programs should consult the local food magazines because food magazines are really good these days. They even have recipes from chefs of famous restaurants.

funguy..u lke that girl.Kiran. I can't beleive it..she's so childish and zubeida auntie is too bossy ..i think she can do the show herself alone. Kiran keeps saying stuff like mujhe tu pata nahin tha..aisa bhi hota waisa bhi hota hai...its like she knows nothing abt cooking..what is she doing on this show then..i think she's sum relative of the producer or the director

It's nida yasar hosting the show with mehboob on Geo these days.
Kiran/Zubeida and nida/mehboob both come on 25 mins before iftari here in pakistan.
Thing is, the ingredients in their recipes are sooo unaffordable by the avg paki resident -- I mean c'mon, pineapples, black olives, octupae sauce (whatever the hell that was!).
The avg uncle returning home from work bargains with the thela walas for the 25 rupees/dozen bananas that wifey has asked him to bring for fruit chaat.....
If it's a show for the general public, go easy on em -- first u air the show half an hour before iftari when most ppl are sitting there watching it just waiting for maghrib, and then u display appetizers they cant afford!

I have caught the Saadia Imam show a couple of times and I could have sworn that man chef looks a lot like an aunty. He even wears a duppata on his head. Their recipes are quite retarded, they tried to stuff two whole chicken legs the other day and yesterday I saw them making soji kay somethings. That looked quite disgusting and this was a half hour before iftaari; even my books start looking appetizing by that time.

Zubeida's aapa/baji's recipes on 'Iftaar Mazedaar' are okay. I don't find anything wrong with'em. Afterall, don't we all eat a lot of spices? Besides the recipes that I watched didn't have anything to do with expensive and unaffordable items.
It was some type of pakoray, lemon juice with lemon peels and God knows what else, but it was all pretty affordable and quite desi.
I think they should start a regular cooking show on ARY Digital for people like me who don't even know the ABC of cooking.
Reminds me, I tried a few recipes online and they all turned out horrible.
