Can shami kebabs be made out of keema ? Or are they only made with gosht/beef ?

I have heard some people make pure keema shammi kebabs instead of beef. Has anyone made those ? How do they turn out ?

my mom always make them with keema. Make kema+chana dal. make sure your keema daal is completly dry. Then in a chopper, you chop it, add egg(s), mix it, and make the kababs. Ycan fry them both with and without egg.

I don't believe there is a law against using qeema for shami kebab. My mum always uses beef though, cooks it and then grinds it. But u know what the ultimate shami kebab is...when u cook the beef and instead of grinding it in a grinder/blender our cook used to grind it on this stone slab and the kebabs always turned out absolutely divine!!! yumyumyum.

my mom usually uses chicken keema w/ the chana daal. i think the chicken meat is supposed to better for health since both parents are diabetics and all.

I am sure you can make them however, as long as they taste good to you. My mom makes them femme's mom's way though: cook the dal and gost together (we use lamb) and then grind the cooked mixture.
I agree femme, sil battay par pisay huay kabab are a taste from nature :yumyum:
