Organic food is alot more expensive. Isn't nonorganic food as good as organic food? What do you prefer to buy from organic shops rather than from normal stores?

I prefer to buy organic primarily becaue we breath lots of pollutants, and injest a number of wierd and wonderful chemicals...also SOME of it tastes better
I try to by local organic produce as far as possible however will generally buy local non organic over organic from abroad
for example organic raspberries from America are yucky (in taste)and old by the time they get onto the supermarket shelves and organic produce doesnt really have that long a shelf life so it goes bad pretty quickly...also the cost to the planet in transporting it halfway across the world isnt particularly good.
where I am we have lots of organic fairs, farm shops, supermarkets have organic areas...so there is quite a choice

ofcourse it better! i esp try to avoid regular milk (with hormones in it which are esp bad for men!!!!! and pasteurized) and buy organic one. organic yogurt tastes so much better too.
however in many cases such as for milk and meat it is also required to make sure that the cows/chicken are also grass fed instead of being fed scummy stuff. the meat from grass fed animals is wayyy more leaner and healthier.
seedless grapes are genetically modified too if u notice the ones with seeds will be priced higher and are also usually smaller in size....choose the one with seeds.
big fat veggies/fruits are all signs of modification and is a result of mass production by greedy america &is making the population obese........

i agree that organic yogurt tastes better aswell as some fruits. Organic ice creams, bread spreads and ketchup are not that tasty...
Organic products are called "Bio produkte" here in germany... they even produce organic cosmetics here they must be good The body shop is also an organic shop then, i guess.

no, the body shop is not organic at all..if you check formulas they're full of dangerous chemicals....in france too we call organic "bio"

parissenoor- body shop products have dangerous chemicals? really? i thought they added natural stuff to their products? i have used their shampoos which are really good.
as far as natural soaps and stuff are concerned i switched to "lush" products. they make their soaps, masks, creams with only natural stuff like fruits/veggies/yogurt/herbs. their stuff is excellent and has no artificial stuff or chemicals. since its all natural they expire in a month or so so u need to buy in small quantities...

I buy as much organic produce as possibly, although it does limit what you can buy in terms of availibility according to if the produce is in season or not. As Daisy says, organic produce shipped in from abroad tends to have a very limited life span and costs a lot more too.
As a general rule, if you're going to start using organic produce and can't buy everything organic then it's best to buy those fruits and vegetable that you would eat or cook with the skins on eg apples, cucumbers, pears, and plums.

Organic or no organic...I would suggest to avoid industrialized/processed food whenever you can...you will save lots of forms of cancers etc...

At the risk of sounding bitter, but that logic doesn't always apply. I used to think the same way too and raised my baby as 'green' as possible yet he still ended up with cancer.
Cynical.............who, me? Without a doubt.

^^I am so sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, I have cancer in my family too and we never really lived on canned foods at all. Not back then and not now either. Always got fresh food for years.
