Yep, at my workplace. We are asked to bring an ethnic dish.

What would be something not too messy and yet represent Pakistani cuisine?

I have recently acquired the art of making beef patties...but aren't those more aligned with the Jamaican cuisine?

No nehari, haleem or biryani either.

Mashvara matloob hay (need advice) por favor

Chana Aloo Chaat (whatever kind of chaana chat you make)
Chicken Tikka
Tandoori Chicken
Samosay

If it was me, I would choose Chaana chaat or Tikka as they are eassy to make.

I like the idea of Chana Chaat.

I have a question...do you all use the garbanzo chic peas straight out of the can or do you boil them to make 'em softer for chaat? Also how do you prepare aaloo?

i used the canned garbanzo beans, for aloo i just boil them and cut them into cubes. Make sure u use a good amount of imli ka pani and do top it off with crushed papri at the very last moment.

Ya I just drain them and wash them with drinking water. Use red potatoes, boil them and cut them in cubes. Since they are mostly non-desi's so I would suggest you to not make it too spicy. Ya top it off with papri and cubed tomatoes. And make sure your imli ka pani has good consistancy.

I am gonna boil the canned garbanzo chicpeas because I like my chaat to be a lil mushy as i don't want the chanay rolling around in my mouth...I don't want to bite on them.

Just don't over boil them. Another tip would be add them when the water is boiling.

closer to 81??????? We are not serving mashed potatoes u know. Bring your own food.

It's on-the-job party. Trying to promote globalism.

What kind of work I do? Depends on your needs...er i mean the needs of consumers.

my chachi makes parathas for her husband's Int'l food day I was horrified when I heard it, but people at my chacha's office actually request that she make parathas for them (you know the bandoo khan style).

I would buy frozen samosas and fry them

I live in a mostly gori-area and had a fundraising potluck dinner for my son's school...I made tandoori chicken and it was a HUGE hit. Samosas would be good, also aloo paratha.

i can post my tandoori ckn recipe if you want, its wonderful

Why does it have to be one of the two? Why can't both be competent? So basically, you are incomplete without your spouse's competence? Quite incompetent if you ask me.
