What we typically refer to as 'dhaniya' powder in urdu? Or is curry powder 'halthi' powder ? Or...is it something else altogether?
Urgent clarification needed, please.

Curry powder is not haldi, haldi is turmeric powder. One of the types of curry powder is garam masala.

I'm confused now. So curry powder is neither 'dhaniya' nor 'haldi' powder?
In this picture i found online, it looks a lot like 'haldi'. Are you sure it's not?

it is a mixture of different spices, it does have haldi & corriander in it with other spices. And the curry powder americans use is different, it is made out of curry leaves, which is a plant. And the pic you have posted is of curry powder.
I hope I haven't confused you more ;-)

Curry powder is not haldi,
Its a mixture of a fewer spices than garam masala including termeric

curry powder ingredients vary by brand, however 4 main ingredients in all curry powders are turmeric, coriander, cumin and fenugreek.

Curry powder is a mixture of spices of widely varying composition developed by the British during their colonial rule of India as a means of approximating the taste of Indian cuisine at home.
Most recipes and producers of curry powder usually include coriander, turmeric, cumin, and fenugreek in their blends. Depending on the recipe, additional ingredients such as ginger, garlic, fennel seed, Clove, mustard seed, green cardamom, black cardamom, nutmeg, red pepper, cinnamon, and black pepper may also be added.
It is also the name given to a different mixture of spices that include curry leaves, which is used in South and Eastern Indian cuisine.
