Its been a long time since I made bread. A freshly made bread has such a good smell, reminds me of old days when the world was a little younger.
Here is my recipe for bread.
6 Tablespoon flour (maida)
1/4 teaspoon dry yeast
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tabelspoon cooking oil
1 teaspoon sugar
3 tablespoon milk
cheddar cheese
sesame seeds
Add sugar into milk and boil to simmer. Take teh milk off the stove and immedately add the yeast.
Yeast is like a living organism so make sure the milk is not very hot otherwise the yeast will not raise and die. Suagr is added to feed the yeast.
Leave the mixture in a warm place for 15 minutes.
In a pan add flour, oil, and salt. Sift it with a spatula or knead withyour nuckles.
Add the yeast that we set aside. It must have raised properly if it got doubled insize.
1st kneading
Knead the mixture well. Cover with moist cloth and set aside for 3 hours. The bread mixture should increase by 30% in size.
2nd Kneading
Knead the dough again and give it the shape you want your bread to be. I added small peaces of chedder cheese inside the dough, you can add qeema (mince meat) or garlic.
Apply egg on the formed dough and sprinkle tills.
Heat the oven at full for 3 minutes and reduce heat to 200 degrees or 2.0 gas mark. Put the dough in oven and bake for 20 minutes. You can smell the bread when its done.
I expect everyone to post a picture of the food that you cook, I missed out taking the picture while preparing the dough. Contributions with visual attributes are required, although it sounds snobbish but this thread is intended to have the photo of the food you cooked as well, so if you dont have a digital camera get one.
Check out for more recipe's later on.
Have a good time.
