INGREDIENTS:
3 whole boneless chicken breasts
Marinade:
2 tablespoons light soy sauce
1 tablespoon white vinegar
a few drops of sesame oil
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
Sauce for Sesame Chicken:
1/2 cup water
1 cup chicken broth
1/8 cup vinegar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 cup sugar
2 TB dark soy sauce
2 TB sesame oil
1 tsp chili paste, or more if desired
1 clove garlic (minced)
Other:
2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds 3 1/2 - 4 cups peanut oil for deep-frying
PREPARATION:
Toast the sesame seeds and set aside.

Cut the chicken into 1-inch cubes. Mix the marinade ingredients and marinate the chicken for 20 minutes.

To prepare the sauce: mix together all of the sauce ingredients. Pour them into a small pot and bring to a boil, stirring continuously.

Turn the heat down to low and keep warm while you are deep-frying the chicken.

To deep-fry the chicken: add the marinated chicken pieces a few at a time, and deep-fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Repeat with the remainder of the chicken.

Just before you are finished deep-frying, bring the sauce back up to a boil.
Place the chicken on a large platter and pour the sauce over. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve the Sesame Chicken with chicken fried rice

I have one ....
With honey, it turns out awsome...
I will post it later.

The best loved by God are those that are rich, yet have the humility of the poor, and those that are poor and have the magnanimity of the rich.

okay
Here it is finally

HONEY AND SESAME CHICKEN

1 lb/500 g chicken tenderloins
1/4 tsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp five-spice powder (NOT GARAM MASALA)
ground nut oil
2 tbsp cornstarch
3 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp sesame seeds

Batter
1/4 cup cornstarch
3/4 cup self raising flour
1-1/4 cups water
1 egg white

1- Cut the tenderloins in half. Mix with the sesame oil and five-spice powder and stand for 15 minutes.

2- Meanwhile, prepare the batter by sifting the 2 flours into a bowl. Add the water and mix until free of lumps. Stiffly beat the egg white and fold into the batter/

3- Place the peanut oil in the wok or frying pan to heat. Dip a piece os chicken into the cornstarch, shake off any excess, dip into the batter, and place immediately into the hot oil. Repeat with 5 or 6 pieces. Cook until golden brown, then remove to a tray lined with paper towels. Repeat with the remainder. Drain all the oil from the wok.

4- Add the honey and lemon juice to the wok and heat through on medium heat. Add the chicken, a few pieces at time and coat with honey. Remove to a serving platter and sprinkel with the sesame seeds. Serve hot.

SERVES 6

This is what I found about five spice powder on the net

Quote:
It consists of China Tung Hing cinnamon (actually a type of cassia), powdered cassia buds, powdered star anise and anise seed, ginger root, and ground cloves. Another recipe for the powder consists of cinnamon, black pepper, cloves, fennel seed, and star anise. Szechuan pepper can also be used.

thanks sadaf,,,, aaish for u
Five Spice Powder
-------------------------------
2 tablespoons whole star anise (about 10)
1 tablespoon Szechwan peppercorns
1 stick cinnamon
2 tablespoons fennel seeds
1/2 teaspoon whole cloves

Place all ingredients in a saute pan over medium heat and dry-roast, shaking pan often, until they give off an aroma, about 5 minutes.

Transfer to a mortar or a clean coffee grinder and grind to a powder. Store in an airtight container.

Makes about 1/4 cup.
