tahini sauce is not used in gyros....perhaps some ppl use it as a substitute for the actual gyro sauce.
SARA....plz try this recipe. I guarantee you'll absolultey love it...AND please let me know how it turned out. (once again another one of my moms recipes)
Combine 1 cup sour cream
3/4 finely chopped, peeled cucumber
2tbls mayo
1 tbls vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 dill weed
cover and refrigerate at least 1 hr to blend flavors
makes about 1 1/2 cups
these measurements are approximated by ME...my mom doesnt really measure things out so i hope it isnt lacking anything
enjoy ur gyro

For teh gyros its not tahini sauce...its Tzatziki sauce....made usually of yogurt (sometimes drained/dried), garlic, and a touch of sour cream, you can find recipe online. Tahini sauce is usually served with Falafel.
