11/2 cup maida
5 Eggs
2 stick unsalted butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
2-3 drops of yellow food color
1/2 cup milk
In a small bowl, add the flours; stir to combine; set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter using an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth.
Add the sugar gradually and beat for 3 minutes or until fluffy.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add the dry ingredients in three parts, alternating with the milk .
With each addition, beat until the ingredients are incorporated but do not overmix.
Spoon the batter into the cupcake baking tray, filling about 3/4 full.
Bake in a 350° oven for 20-25 minutes.
Cool the cupcakes in the tin for 15 minutes.
Remove cakes from the tins and cool on a wire rack.

Self rising flour is a combination of flour and baking powder and a little salt. You can eaisly buy it from a super store or make some by yourself.

Here's how to make self-rising flour if you don't have any on hand.
Ingredients:

4 cups flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons baking powder
Preparation:

Combine all ingredients; store in tightly covered can or jar. Use in any recipe calling for self-rising flour.
Makes 1 pound of self-rising flour.

One pound of butter has 4 sticks. So two sticks is 8 oz.
