hi all..
what do you normally have made/prepared in your freezer or refrigerator for guests(emergency guests i mean) ? my mom has some shami kebabs, samosas, rolls and some marinated chicken always frozen in the freezer so that they can be immediately used if some surprise guests (r the ones who turn up at a v.short time notice) .. i was planning to store some stuff for this purpose? any ideas or experiences?

My mum freezes most starters like u say (samosas, spring rolls, burgers) and also curries incase of a surprise gathering. Also, when she makes too much of something, eg. biryani or haleem, that gets frozen too - and we eat it whenever none of us can be bothered to cook.

You can't go wrong with things like Samosa's etc is th freezer...also what about marinaded chicken drumsticks/cheese balls and pastries...you can even make a meal out of them......
If the guests are staying overnight/for a meal then marinaded chicken is great for keeping frozen...just chuck it in a saucepan with fried onions, tomatoes and potatoes...instant chicken curry!

All liars! Where are these households and these moms refrigerating samosas, rolls, kababs and whatnot! Everytime I visit I get served Sara Lee's fattening pound cake and some Marie biscuits with chai. I need to re-align my social circle.

I like the way its spelled .... jaldee se AJAW..
Ek to her jigah so many ENGLAND hain ke pata hee nahee chaltaa. These angrez are always short of names. Every State has a George Square. Every City has a Maine Street or a Washington Blvd.
My co-worker was saying that they have completed a searched for names for their 'to be born' child's name. She ssaid if its a boy they will name him JOHN ... now whats there to choose the name 'JOHN'
My refrigerator has veriety Koftas, Chapli Kabobs, Nehari (coz whenever nehari is made .. its made in big portion) Daal, baked Alaskan Cod from Costco.
