I have a bunch of cook books, some recipes saved on my computer, and also a drawer full of paper scraps with my favorite recipes on them. I want to organize them and categorize them!! How did you guys do yours?..

Do you print out recipes and put 'em in sheet protectors in a binder? Or do you make recipe cards? Jot down good recipes in a notebook? Or do you type 'em up and save them in your recipe folder? Share!

I printed out the recipes and had them in a leather binder.. before I got them binded together I added in about 200+ blank pages in there and now I just note down the recipes in it!

I have my very own recipes book which is very precious to me. :queen:

Worried

I have one of those project books that have inbuilt subject dividers - for 6 different subjects. So all I did was label various "types of recipes" - I have
- Meat/Chicken
- Veggie
- Snacks
- Sweets/Desserts
- Ramzan
- English dishes

Then just wrote in those that I had on scraps/in my head and glued in printouts and stuff. Now it's getting a bit full!

I also have my "Indian Delights" Cookbook which is amazing and well used

before i got married i made this diary kinda thing...i really worked hard on it,collecting recipes from magazines and mom and where not...and my sisters used to make fun of me back then....
anyways, now i have them all over the place...have a folder on food network.com and i think i used to have one on kraft or betty crocker site too(although i have forgotten the user name now...!!..)...
have cuttings of recipes here and there....

in a nut shell...my recipes are NOT organized at the moment....*sighs*

The thing with storing recipes online is that you have to either memorize them (open to mistakes?) or print/write them when wasnting to use them. Or am I missing something?

I use the A.R.A.D website for inspiration everynow and again, and as a result either print or write the recipe down, which is then added to my book.

How do you guys who have recipes stored online cope????

i think that keeping recipes on ur computer/internet is a great idea as a backup...but i usually need the recipe infront of my eyes to mark things off as i cook.

i know there are some neat softwares that you can use to store recipes on your computer...i like that idea...but like i said, i need a hardcopy on the kitchen counter. oh and i also like daagh's blog they did a neat job with it!!

chips - before i got married, i let my ammi do the cooking and i took care of the eating i have most of her good recipes, but yeah...need to organize 'em..

and here is a little known fact: i had enough trouble memorizing the alphabets...nobody should expect me to memorize recipes

wanabe a mum..i really like your idea! i think if i categorize mine like that...i'll probably put them in sheet protectors, otherwise the pages might get dirty in the kitchen..and i like my things nice and clean.

aaish, i like the stars idea. i'm thinking of doing recipe cards..and maybe i'll do that....all the stars will end up in the desserts section
