Yeah I make the biryani myself. Only use one tbspoon of biryani masala, rest I do myself.
I'm in a hurry right now but insh'allah will post the recipe later today!
Yesterday I made lamb chops with with vegetables and tandoori potatoes. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the potatoes
I boiled the veggies and took them out when they were almost done. Then I let them cool. In a wok I heated some oil, aded crushed garlic and some zeera then on high aanch I added the veggies and very quickly heated it up. They tasted yummy.
For the chops I used this recipe:
Ingredients
Serves 4
1 pint of live natural yogurt
1 Tablespoon Cumin powder
1 Tablespoon garam massala
1 Teaspoon Coriander powder
1 Teaspoon Turmeric powder
1 Teaspoon chilli powder
Juice 1 lemon
8 cloves garlic - crushed
1 inch grated ginger
Red food colouring
8 Lamb chops
1 Lemon
Method
Mix the spices, colouring, lemon juice, ginger and garlic up into a paste with a little water and stir in well with the yogurt to make a tandoori marinade. Remove the fat from the chops and marinate in the marinade for 2-60 hours. Preheat the oven to it's highest heat for at least 20 minutes. Shake off excess marinade and place chops on a wire rack in the oven. Cook for 20 minutes and check the chops are cooked by cutting into one slightly, serve with a wedge of lemon.
I didn't use the food colour for my recipe and also added one tbspoon of tandoori masala.
ANd for the tandoori aalu I used this one:
Ingredients:
7-8 baby potatoes peeled
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 tea spn cumin View definition in a new window powder
1/2 tea spn coriander View definition in a new window powder
2 tbl spn thick curd/yogurt
1-2 tea spns chili powder
1 tea spn ginger-garlic paste
1 tbl spn lemon juice
Oil
Salt
Method:
Prick with a fork or put some deep slit marks with a knife on all the potatoes.
Grind onions(preferably without water) to a smooth paste. Add onion paste and all other ingredients, except oil to the potatoes and mix well so that the potatoes get a thick coating of potatoes all over. The yogurt should be very thick so that the mixture remains thick.
Leave the potatoes for around 1hr. Heat oil in a non stick pan and add the potatoes with the masala. Close the lid and let it cook on a low flame for around 15mins.
Preheat the oven at 350F for around 5mins. Take the potatoes in a greased bake ware and broil at 350F for around 10-15mins(till the coating has turned brownish).
Serve hot with lemon juice.
