So I've opened this thread so all of you guys can post pictures (and recipes?) of whatever it is that you've eaten or cooked that day. I've permanently installed my digi cam next to my laptop so I can take a snap of my plate
Mind you, doesn't have to look pretty or fancy, just take a picture of whatever you're eating. So let me be the first one...
I made chicken biryani and baingan ka raita today.
i dont have pics for now, but man, that looks delicious! I won't complain because I just had a plate
"A State divided into a small number of rich and a large number of poor will always develop a government manipulated by the rich to protect the amenities represented by their property."
I had lollipop chicken, masala fries, chicken-shrimp-beef pad thai, basil chicken w/ gravy, chicken hakka tangra masala noodles and chickken fried rice. (get together with friends )
Today I made 2 big tuna salads with mustard dressing for lunch (one for hubby and one for me ) For dinner we're having the left over biryani.
Oh wow shinoo - that salad looks so delicious. I need to start making salads for my lunch - could you please share the recipe of the above salad and others you have?
Thanks girls! Salad is very easy and filling. I used:
Packed saladleaves (various sorts)
Canned tuna (in water)
Juicy tomatoes
Cucumber
Olives
Red bellpepper
Red onions (didn't have those so just used white)
Boiled egg (one per person)
Green beans (had to use pre boiled ones but normally use fresh ones and cook them till they still have a 'crunch')
Just built up a plate with these ingredients, make sure you top it with tuna and beans. Then use whatever dressing you like. I made my own with mayo and mustard with black pepper and seasalt.
ufffff pics layina bhool gaee ,,ajj tou kuch nahee kion ka ajj kal ka left over khaya, dinner tha na mayray pass,,mai nay banaya tha veg ki biryani, karhai gousht ,seekh kabab ka salan ,gren salad, kheer, everyone liked the food,,
Sunday i made tahri (aloo walay tarkay walay chawal) and popcorn chicken. It was sooo yum esp the rice. Sorry Shinoo i am too lazy to take pics these days.
Hubby isn't eating home today so I had to cook for myself. I love vegetarian food and hubs is a meatlover so it was NO meat today!
Simple but oh so delicious chanay aalu topped with lemon, chaat masala and harra dhaniya with frozen pre packed daal ki roti (they're so handy when you're alone and don't feel like making roti)
shinoo...this is such an interesting thread...and the allo channay look yumm...
ur rice look so nice too in the first pic...although i am no good at it,but the grains seem so long and separate(if u know what i mean...)...what brand rice are those...??
i am on a search for a new brand of rice these days....
its better to light a candle ,than to curse the darkness.
^Thank you chips :-)
I love this brand of rice. Nobody else I know has heard of it so I'm afraid it's not widely available. It's called Palmer Basmati and I think it's better than Tilda and al the other popular brands!
Do you mix your masala and rice and then do 'dum' while making biryani or do you make seperate layers?
I boil the rice seperately and then make layers, the grains always comes out very long and seperate!
^ Mujhe apni mama yaad aa gayee daal dekh kar! I don't make this daal at home cuz they're not really fond of maash ki dal here but I used to eat it a lot in my pre-married days :-D
