midnighteyes, there have been some threads on it, you may want to do a search. I personally make a salan like i no rmally would with lots of onions and tomato masala and use biryani spice mix, usually by SHan. A brand i recently used and liked was Banne Nawab's. Then boil the rice partially and layer it with the meat salan, aloo bukhara, potatoes if you want, dhanya/pudina, zaafran etc. Cover tightly and let it cook in its own steam, on the stove or bake in oven at 350 for about 45-60 mins.

yes i tried this biryani recipe and it was delecious and tasty,and i used normal cream.
