So......My cooking is the equavalent to Bush's reading abilities....

However, my resolution was to learn to cook in 2008..since its half over..I think I'll start now..

Anyone know any good recipes that use little to no oil? My sister seems to accomplish making gobi aloo (dont mind the spelling..im not to good with urdu)... by steaming it...Tastes pretty good

Anyone else?

lol check the ajj kiya pakaya thread, it is full of easy recipes...

Ok 1 easy chicken recipe.
Marinate chicken with salt, pepper, lemon juice. Take a pan/ pot. Throw the chicken in the pot with the marinate. Cook on medium low heat till chicken is tender. Once chicken is tender, you take the chicken out, just eat it as it is, or make something else out of it like sandwich or whatever.
You can also let the marinate masala which will be in liquidish form, evaporate, eat the chichen and masala with roti and salad.

Another recipe...

Again chicken....take some chicken, marinate with soyssauce, salt, blk pepper, lemon juice, hot sauce, and just 1/2-1 tbsp of cornflour. Again take a pot and cook the chicken on medium low heat till it is tender and gravy thickens out. Eat with any kind of rice, vegetables, or mashed potato...you can you boned or boneless chicken.

Ok a vegetable recipe....
Take mix vegetables. Glaze the pan with very little oil. Throw the vegetables in the pan, season them with salt and blk pepper. Let them cook on medium low hear till tender. You can eat them by themselves, with pasta, rice, any of the above recipes, or anything you like....

May Allah bring peace in Pakistan. Ameen

Insomnious

i also hate our food drenched in oil. when i cook aloo gobi or any salan i only use a tablespoon of oil to fry off the onions/garlic/spices, after that add the vegies, and water as needed.

Why don't you use Olive oil? It is healthy, cuts cholestrol and tastes great.
