Mirch sir, your top 10 tips r gr8, but i would say for rice, measure a level cup, add 2 same level cups of water to pan until it boils, add the washed rice, stir once, lid on, low heat for 10 minutes, rest for 5 mins, then fluff it up with spoon.

Dil cheez, u can learn as u go along after u get married, if your husband cooks, he can teach u. I didnt know how to make things like biryani b4 i got married. I had never even heard of haleem or nihari either. But husband liked the stuff and he taught me how to cook them cos he is a good cook. Him and SHAN MASALA!!! Actually is prefer Laziza masala. In any case, theres always a recipe on the back to help u.

Now i have become so confident in cooking eastern stuff that i make my own masala mixes at home rather than the shan stuff cos they can b quite strong.

tell us what can you cook, like can you fry an egg? Do you know how to chop an onion?

Do you know about food hygiene, this is important as you dont want to make people sick.

But dont worry there are many good folk here to help you!
