55 people at your hous? Scary! i hope u r going to use disposable plates and cutlery?

Biryani is good if u can make the masala ready the day b4, then u just have to boil the rice and layer it. If u r having mutton in biryani, dont make mutton salan.

I would have:

Mutton biryani or pilau with raita.
Tandoori marinated chicken.
Channa or veg curry to go with naans.
Chutney and salad.

Easy dessert dish like mixed fruit with sweetened cream.

normally if i have a dawat I make chicken biryani, kadhai gosht, shami kabab, pasta, mixed vegetables.. as u see.. a lil bit of everything but ive used this menu for 20 people. since ure cookin for 50, u should go for basics and less time consuming...
1) definitely biryani
2) definitely shami kabab (u can make 2-3 days before and fry them even before the guests come and microwave it)
3)Korma cus Kadhai uses alot of tomatoes!
4)Chicken drumsticks (marinate it all nite in a chicken tikka masala with alot of oil.. the next day cook it up.. the masala will dry up. take out the drumsticks from it.. serve!)
5) Veggie pasta...

I hope this helps

Think it over. By the time its time for dinner, I'm usually too stuffed to eat. Eh? Got those wheels turning now didn't I?

ps: Don't hate. My rolls of fat keep me warm in the winter.

Perhaps i should tell my mother the benefits of rolls of fat. She caught me eating a sandwich when she called, and proceeded to warn me: If u eat all day u will soon be fat, and then u can't get rid of the fat once its there, its there to stay.

But hey, if it helps keep my heating bills down...
