okay people, i need your help please. i've volunteered to make dessert for an eid get together, so i thought instead of taking a large quantity of one dessert, i'd bring smaller quantities of three or four bite-sized desserts.
i want to make mini-eclairs, and i was thinking i could do bite-sized cupcakes or brownies, and lemon squares. does anyone have any other ideas of what i could take? i'm pretty good with baking (as opposed to cooking ) so i'm willing to try out complicated recipes too. does anyone have a good mini fruit tart recipe? or any ideas of something with chocolate and pear?
help!

Oh make mini merengue's with sweetened whipped cream+mascarpone and then on top add some glazed fruits that you like! (like pineapple, kiwi or even grapes).

lol, long time back when I was a clueless girl working at a cafe, we had a display cabinet where all the cakes were displayed.
One day i accidentally dropped the lemon meringue pie and the top white bit got a bit damaged and my boss was standing right beside me ready to yell at me.
So i quickly reached for the can of whip cream and covered the damaged part not realizing that the white bit wasnt whip cream at all.
They made fun of me till the day I left

SGC, make shahi tukra squares, if you can get kulfi molds or mini popsicle moulds, make kulfis or even in little cups, and present in a antique looking tub with ice, i have this recipe for a pineapple bake dish, turns out yummy. You could also make/buy besan laddoos. Brownies is a good idea.

Yup make shahi tukray squares and brownies. Is it a desi "desi" gathering? If yes then you might want to make some sheer too...

Make small strawberry gateau squares. Tray bake vanilla sponge, slice into 2 layers and layer with chopped strawberries mixed in sweetened whipped cream, cover the top with whipped cream and cut into small squares. Top each square with a strawberry half.
Fruit tart - bake small tart cases (shortcrust pastry) or buy those small ready made cases (easier!). Dollop some creme patissiere and top with chopped fruits, glaze with that gel stuff that comes in a packet.

oy! thanks people!
ok first off, its a desi gathering, yes, but i've never made shahi tukray or sheer korma before. i've always associated it with "grown up" gatherings, like ones hosted by my parents
i know, its silly but i guess i'm married now and sort of grown up so i should give it a shot... recipes please!
gina, i would love that coconut bars recipe- i think i've got too much chocolate happening here.
ooh, chocolate dipped strawberries! i could definitely do that with white and dark chocolate. and also, i was thinking i'd make truffles and roll them in walnuts, coco powder and coconut.
rupay, the strawberry gateau squares sound delish too... oooh, for the minitarts, i found this great filling- mix mascarpone cheese with whipped cream and a bit of sugar and clear vanilla, and then top with fruits. melt some jam for the glaze and brush it on. yummeh!
man, im going to have to start baking three days before!
