OMG...LUSI i was searching for the same recipe online a few hours ago....
i never found anything that looked good so i just cooked the chicken i had defrosting...the same old boring way....

Chicken -1/2kg, preferably boneless, cut into 1-1/2 inch pieces
yogurt-2tbls
soy sauce- 2 tsps
corn flour-2tbls
all purpose flour-1 tbls
ginger-1/2 inch piece, finely chopped and crushed smooth
galric-2 cloves, finely chopped and crushed smooth
red chilli powder- 2tsp
garam masala powder-1/2 tsp (optional)
lemon juice- 1 tsp
1 egg (optional)
salt- 1/2 tsp or adjust to taste
vinegar-1/2 tsp
green chillies- 3 medium size, medium hot, deep fried
Method-
Mix well all the ingredients together except green chillies and oil in shallow vessel. Add the chicken pieces to this marinade along with the vinegar and mix it evenly again. Marinate it covered for 2-4 hrs in a refrigerator. Heat oil in a fry pan and when the oil is very hot, eep fry the chicken pieces until it turns reddish brown. This was item#65 on some mess menu I think, hence the name. I tried it during ramzan I think or maybe before that, turned out good, well 3/6 ppl at home liked it
I made it a long time ago so I don't remember much but it was similar to this....didn't add chili garlic sauce though. I'm sure there are many versions of this dish. We used to have hyderabadi family living in our building and they used to make it every single day so I have had it many times because they used share their food with us a lot.
But I divide the fried chicken in two halves . First half we eat as is and the second half I use for cooking with dry curry as in the original recipe. My kids and all the friends love both versions.

^Just read the recipe and this is how my hubby's grandmother makes fish curry and it is YUMMY!!! She adds one spoon of national fish masala to it as well and the karri patta gives it a kick.

Do you use MSG? I guess you can leave it out right?
