I and my kids are fond of cold meat sandwiches. I used to buy some cold meat cuts at a Yahoodi Key Dookan(kosher) , but the prices at that place are exorbitant.
So I bought a meat slicer and roasted a turkey and made a meat loaf. both of them turned out good but I was unable to get the kind of cuts they sell at those stores using that meat slicer.
What is the secret ? Anybody knows ? Is it that the meat has to be cold or chilled in refrigerator before slicing to get that perfect cut ?
I am a man with a plan. A plan to live a simple , fulfilling life.

X2, I will get back at you someday
Waisey, I love cold meat sandwiches too. The problem is that I have no place to store such a bulky machine. And then I would have to clean up all the mess later! Hubby on the other hand, doesn't care about the logistics of all that, he's been trying to get one for the past few months. Somehow I've managed to distract him but this thread will revive his dreams.

Ok Niki, you said the same thing about that 5 dollars apple corer .. and after I bought it without telling you, you kinda loved that thing.
I am telling you, Meat slicer is the next best thing since the invention of slice bread .. no pun intended
I love cold cut sandwiches plus I want to slice my own steaks and not buy them from butcher. Desi butchers just dont know a jack about steaks.

No it is not bulky. The home use kind is not as big as the store version. It is very compact.
And ya that Apple corer is also a cool gadget and must have.
