I installed a backup sump pump in my basement today, just in case theres a power failure during a summer thunderstorm or something. I dont want my nice basement to flood, theres expensive equipment I keep down there. Is there anyone else who installed a backup pump just in case? I used an old car battery, an inverter and a little pump I had lying around just for emergencies. I'm using a tethered float, and tested it out a few times. Worked like a charm. Anyone else installed a backup pump? Am I missing something??

Second star to the right and straight on till morning
