I am totally in love with hummus. It's my new favorite food. Nice and creamy, not too heavy but filling... its just amazingg! I've been eating it for lunch and dinner for the past two days and just cant seem to get enough.
I wanna try all the flavors someday. Right now my favs are supremely spicy hummus, luscious lemon, greek olive, and roasted red pepper. What's yours?
it's the heart afraid of dying, that never learns to dance; It's the dream afraid of waking, that never takes the chance; It's the one who won't be taken, who cannot seem to give; And the soul afraid of dying, that never learns to live.

 @ eating everyday.
I love Humus myself but wouldnt eat it everday.
Some days, i'll buy Turkish bread, heat it on the tawa, apply olive oil on both sides and cut it into bit sized pieces. Then serve the hot bread with cold humus, zucchini and eggplant dippings. Mmm yummy

Its not too difficult to make actually. Just boil some sabat channay (chick peas)....and then blitz them in a blender, turning them into a paste. Add drops of olive oil to smoothen the consistency, and some lemon juice. When you have the right consistency, thats your basic hummus right there. Then you can add whatever you want in order to tastify it further.....like salt, black pepper, more lemon, more oil etc..

Basic Hummus doesn't have garlic or tahini paste just olive oil, lemon juice and chick peas
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

^ Aah, that would explain the blandness of some humous in restaurants. But the sainsbury's one DOES have garlic and tahini paste, its the best! Mostar bhai and i think thats the tastiest.

Can someone help me? When i try to puree the chickpeas in a blender or a processor, it turns out lumpy. When i put a little bit of water in, it gets too runny. How does one puree into a smooth consistency without being runny? Is the jug blender better or the flatter processor?

Yeah, this is after i put in some oil, then i don't want to put more in, in case it makes it TOO oily. Even with oil its too lumpy, then with a bit of water it goes too runny. How to make it nice n smooth and thick?
