From next week we won't be going to the superstore for the food shopping, I've found out that there are farms in our area who sell organic veg, fruit, eggs and dairy and deliver to your door for free weekly. The prices are also reasonable.
I think I'll be saving my time and money [that i spend in the superstore on non-food items], also no hassle of taking little kids with you and eating organic and healthy food. Of course buying more vegis mean cooking and eating more vegis.
Do you guys like delivery services or going out by yourself to buy the food items?

One of my cooperating teacher's used to get fresh vegetable and meat delivery. Every week or two she used to get a basket of season vegetables from the farm. She loved it.

I use home delivery service, too lazy to go to the mall and line up at then counter and then push the trolly back to the car, load it and then unload it at home.
I even found halal meat delivery sites for Scotland. and the prices are reasonable.

I think you should go out there, take your kids to these farms and show them what you eat, and where it comes from. I mean otherwise the general perception that will linger on to their minds would be the fact that when they were little, they used to eat fruits and vegetables that grew in stores or your home (if its delivered to you). You can thin of it as a nature/field trip, since you are home schooling the kiddies.
Second star to the right and straight on till morning

I have one memory of going to a farm with the whole family. My dad went there to slaughter some chickens for us!
We got to tour the farm while pa was selecting chickens. So we were traipsing around with ma and came across this huge, scarey almost white coloured animals with these slimey fat snouts that were trying to poke through the fence. I was in awe of such strange creatures when my ma shouted "urghh, don't look at them, they r pigs!" LOL.
That was more than 20 years ago and i still remember it clearly.
BTW i like grocery shopping, but i don't like putting it away when we get home.

awww thanks spock for that....
we often take them out in farms and woodlands and sometimes grow in our garden in pots. We are even planning to buy our own small farm if not that then atleast a bigger garden to keep kids near nature as much as possible.
Infact, today they're gonna sow some seeds of flowers so yeah I won't let them be nature-sick.
But really it's a nightmare for me to take them into the supermarket.
