I am not sure if it bother you guys or not but this seriously ticks me big time.
You name any restaurant, Chain/franchsie/private own ... American/Greek/Italian/ Seafood ... bread is always free with dinner, and as much as you eat.
You go to desi restaurant, they freaking charge you $1.50 or more for one naan. What gives man. No wonder 80% of the desi restaurants in US fail with in first year.

restaurants are for paid customers. nothing comes from free. if you want free naan...bring your own naan.

PM yaar, I lived in Detroit for many years, They have huge Arab population and 100's of arab restaurants and arabs eat pita bread like we eat naan. Every Arab restaurant that I ever went to serve free bread. When they can serve it, why cant desi restaurants do that.
Lusi, do you know which restaurant am I talking about? I dont remember the name but it was on International Blved, quite close to Universal studios

next time you'll say why do they even charge you for the food you eat...
haad ho gaye desi-punay ki. if arabs do it then what? no one has to follow what they do and how they do it. a pita bread is not exactly naan. you can buy a pita bread pack of 12 for around $1.00...but a pack of 4-5 naans costs over $2.0.

TLk lack of consistency, poor service and cleanliness are the bigger turn offs.
dont eat bread, they are forcing you to go on a low carb diet.

that would be my next question then. How comes nan/roti is fancier than Tortilla/Pita/Lavash breads that are available for half the price. 5 nan pack of Shaan or Swaad cost $2.0 + .. flat bread is flat bread, be it Mediterranean, Mexican or Indian .. why such a price difference?

X2, even at some fancier desi restaurants, where service maybe little better and place little cleaner, they charge you extra for the bread.. I mean what the heck, you gave me a plate of chicken karahi for 9.99, cant you give me couple of free naans with that

TLk I think there are couple close to universal and both suck, my cousins were visiting and we decided to eat at desi resturant, we ordered biryani and tikkah thinking that it won't be old but when we got the good biryani looked old---over heated and tikkah was too dry and especially from the corners---another sign on over heating... then my cousin asked the owner if they had buffet and he said yes...lol

next time you go to orlando, best paki restaurants are Bsimillah and apna restuarant. Both are on Orange Blossom Trail, not too far from Universal

Ive rarely seen restaurants give naan for free. Last week I was at a very nice desi restaurant and guess how much their CHAPATI (not naan) was? $2.99! It was really good food but $2.99?! Are you kidding me? And the way the guys in my family eat, our bill was crazy!
