Are you a pasta lover like me? If so, I have a yummy baked ziti recipe for you. It's actually based recipe for baked ziti from the fast food Italian restaurant, Sbarro. Super easy to make and oh so yummy.
Heres what you need:
1) A box of ziti pasta.
2) Tomato sauce also called spaghetti/marinara sauce
3) Cottage cheese
4) Shredded Mozzarella cheese.
5) Shredded Romano cheese
Procedure:
1) Cook Ziti according to instructions
2) In a bowl mix cottage cheese with Romano cheese, pepper, and tomato sauce. You'll get a pinkish colored mixture. If you don't have Romano cheese, just use half of the shredded mozzarella instead (and the other half for the topping).
3) Drain your ziti pasta. Gently combine/mix your boiled ziti with the pink cottage cheese mixture.
4) Take a baking dish........spread some tomato sauce on bottom of baking dish to prevent sticking. Then on top of that, spread out your ziti mixture. Then on top of that lightly sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
5) Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. And bake for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese on top has melted. Cool and serve......keep some extra tomato sauce on hand as some people like to pour tomato sauce on top of the dish.
End result should look similar to this: http://www.thomhackett.com/images/Food/sbarro-ziti.jpg
Other than ziti, you can use cottage cheese in salad, as a spread, with fruit, etc.

You can use cottage cheese in lasagna, also over fruit... it's an excellent source of protein, yet low in fat. Have it with tuna fish in a sandwich.

Wow, i had no idea that there were various versions of cottage cheese. I've always only seen the lumpy kind. Interesting

good idea! I've never thought of substituting cottage cheese for regular salad dressing. Trying to stay away from the store-bought dressings that are so full of additives and fat and sugar etc. This is a healthy way to have salad without all that crap!

I wouldn't advise using it in similar ways to the firmer version.
