Here's the recipe for Kashmiri chai:
- 1 tsp loose tea
- 4 cardamom pods, bruised
- 1 small cinnamon stick, broken up
- Saffron threads, a pinch
- 4 cups water
- 2 tbs finely powdered almonds
- Honey, to taste
Preparation:
Mix everything except honey and almonds in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and let tea steep for 5 minutes. Put a teaspoon of almonds in the bottom of each cup, and pour hot tea over. Sweeten with honey to taste.

You are missing salt. Also almonds don't have to be powdered
I'm just speaking from what I know and drank

I never tried to make it at home but I had it once at a Pakistani restaurant in New Jersey. It was amazingly good. I forgot the name of that restaurant. It was either Shalimar or Sheezan.
NJ people help me out here.

I believe both Shalimar & Shezan on Oaktree have the sabaz chai(pink tea). Also Shahnawaz buffet usually has it as well.

ooh and any kashmiri here? is it a traditional breakfast to have yummy sabz chai, with this naan with like sesame seeds and all with a fried egg but with hot peppers. This kashmiri guy made us breakfast one day and it was simple but yummy, and he said its somewhat traditional but he doesnt have enough stuff at home right now....hehe. But in a fry pan he sauteed hot green peppers and then cracked an egg on top....and the resulting sunny sid eup egg had a yummy peppery flavor...so good
