Green Street or Southall for proper restaurants, Pakistani food that is.
Edgware Road for halal but not Pakistani food.
Most Nando's are halal too.

No halal Pizza Hut. There are a few halal Nandos like in Tooting but not all so do check. KFC is not halal but Chicken Cottage and Dixys are.

Check out zabihah.com. It has listing of halal places all over the world. I use it for my home state in America. This is a site for word of mouth meaning if a person discovers a halal place, they add it to the site. The caveat is on you to confirm any location listed as halal.

check out Kiasu ... straits of malacca/malaysian/singaporean/chinese/thai type food. quite different from your usual fare and pretty cheap (weekdays lunch 5 pounds for starter+main course)
also there is magic wok a shanghainese restaurant thats recently gone Halal.

The Maroush chain .... great food and atmosphere. Visit their site to find info as they have a couple of restaurants in London....
They should pay me for the free advertising they are getting from me

^ Hey I went to a Maroush and they gave me and other lady in our group a nicely decorated gift wrapped dish of baklava. Nice touch.

Yes Maroush is very nice - Lebanese cuisine - I agree when they the staff see some ladies, they give something or the other for free..
There is also Beirut Express on Edgeware Road - they do amazing freshly cooked food!

Hmm, I've heard alot about these lamb chops... But 3 people I know in real life went there and had dodgy stomachs afterwards, however, I think I might risk that just to see what the fuss is about!
