we don't have halal popeyes here.
I usually just use the chicken broast masala but today I don't have any. I was just going to marinate the chicken in soya sauce, black pepper and cornstarch then deep fry for the kidos. How's that?

Are you looking for a marinade recipe or the batter to dip the chicken in..??
A friend once shared this recipe for the batter for fried chicken...
marinate it like you would normally do...in salt/pepper/lemon juice etc etc....
Make a mix of half cup each of flour, rice flour and cornstarch...to it add half a teaspoon of baking powder and salt and black pepper acc to taste...
Beat 1-2 eggs.Dip the chicken in the eggs and then the flour and again in the eggs and then the flour and fry.
It makes the perfectest crispy fried chicken...
I usually use chicken tenders instead of bone-in chicken pieces but you can use either...

I marinate the chicken in buttermilk, hot-sauce, salt and pepper for about 2 hours.. and then boil it till done.
Then dip it in beaten (seasoned) eggs and then in a combo of breadcrumbs, cornflakes and crisps. (This makes a lovely coating)
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!

I did this a few weeks ago and it turned out pretty good:
I marinated chicken in lemon juice and black pepper for about an hour or so...thats all the time I had.
I took about a 1.5 cups of flour and added one spoon of salt, one spoon of black pepper and 2 spoons of Italian seasoning.
I coated each piece of chicken in the flour and fried until each side was reddish brown and then I baked the entire pan in the oven at 350 for 20-25 minutes.
It turned out well.

I do something similar to Gina. Marinate thi chicken in hot sauce, salt, pepper & if you want some garlic powder too. Then i set out some flour and a beaten egg in bowl. Dop the chicken in the egg & then the flour and deep fry. Yummy! What is even better is to flavor the flour slightly with pepper, cajun seasoning, dried herbs etc.....some salt to give it more kick.

Hey ladies try this one out...
mix equal amount of rice, maida and corn flour, salt hasb-i-zaiqa, mix them well. Dip chicken in egg (white) and then in this mixture, again into egg and then mixture... do it thrice. then fry it. One more thing...fry the chicken while the pan covered all the time except when you role the piece.
Crunchy fried chicken is ready.
