I buy a massive waterlemon, cut it in half and give the other half to any one of my sisters! As we are all married with kids, melon gets eaten up quickly. Problem solved!

Or give it to Mum/ neighbour/ friend etc!

can't u get them in halves or something? Many of the produce departments have watermelon and pineapples already sliced and peeled and ready to eat... if u buy them with the rind still on it, but cut up its cheaper...though not as cheap as the whole thing but if u end up buying the bulky one and it goes to waste it defeats the purpose of saving money no?
