So I am cooking qeema, and i heated the oil in a pan, added onions. After sometime, it's all frothy. I tasted the oil but it smells fine. Whyyyyyyyyyyyy? What's going on???

or geelay onions tou add nai kiye in oil?

or you didnt wash the pan properly and perhaps there was still soap in it

OK, so I still went and ahead an cooked the qeema. It turned out fine. The frothing stopped after I took it off the flame and let the onions rest a few minutes. Although I still saw some bubbles later. It's been 5 hours since dinner. We are still alive and haven't used the bathroom in manners anticipated by readers.
